What have I done last week?

 Last weekend I had my workshop with Duikvlucht. More art than trational quiltwork, but I managed to create a tradiotional quilt. I started with letters and paper from magazines. Cut and paste....

 In different colours.....

 More organised....that is what I like!

 With looking for letters and text in some old magazines, I find this a Flow, a nice magazine with a lot of inspiration for a lot of things. This picture belongs to an article about Love Letters....

I used the quote on fabric....

Can you read is: Everything that is supposed to be in heaven, is already here on earth

Nice isn't it?

Added some flowers and fabrics

And a new quilt is born.

 Pattern will be available at the OEQC in Veldhoven!

Hollandse tulpjes

Het is nu echt voorjaar, de Floriade is geopend en al is het nat buiten alles groeit en bloeit.

Daarom een voorjaarspakketje voor de Hollandse tulpjes.

Het ligt klaar in de winkel.

Kom maar gauw langs.

Woensdag is het weer huisjes-bee. Van 9.45-12.15 uur is iedereen welkom die huisjes aan het bouwen is of daar nog mee wil beginnen! Of wil je wel eens zien wat iedereen doet?

Quick present for a special boy

Saturday morning 9:15, Buying fruit on the market, I got a SMS...my nephew is born and his name is Coen. HELP, I didn't start to make his quilt and no time to buy him a present

 9.35 at the shop: Son X had to choose the fabrics for a little quilt. He decided: BLUE, that is for boys.... 

 10.00 at the shop (we had quiltcafé, my other project stays in my bag....) the squares are cut...

 14.00 at the shop: The first squares are sewed...

 Sunday morning: Top is finished and immediately sandwiched. Before bedtime the machinequilting was done....

 Monday morning 9.00. Ready!

 I wrapped it with a ribbon I bought 6 years ago (and never used) during a trip to Orlando. I was pregnant at that time and in the mood for ribbons like this with: Baby's first, written on it

And last friday  I bought this nice tin for whatever you like...I already bought this tin last year, but is was sale and you never know. Now it was the perfect box for a Easter baby. ( I put a fabric with easter eggs on the back of the quilt)

Monday morning 11.30: Hello Coen, Welcome in our family

Every time you see a baby it is a miracle, those little fingers etc etc.

And I am happy that I could give him his own quilt!

So, that was my weekend!

Mystery Carrousel part 6

 Part 6 of the mystery. We are half way....

You have to make stars set in a hexagon....All the points are the same size, but with making the pattern I thought they wer not equal....but my template told me something else....Easier to make then I thought!

And this one is part of Little Carrousel, can you see what it will be?

Deel 6 van de msterie. We zijn al op de helft...Wat gaat dat weer snel.

Het patroon van de ster is makkelijk dan het lijkt. Alle punten van de ster zijn nl. even groot, al lijkt dit niet zo. Zelf kwam ik er ook pas achter toen ik aan het af tekenen was op de stof en moeilijk aan het doen was met verschillende mallen en spiegelbeeld. Je bent dus gewaarschuwd.

ps. De camper is inmiddels al af en ik ben tot de ontdekking gekomen dat er heel veel grote mensen ook van het bouwen met Lego houden en dat er heel veel moois te koop is....dat zie je alleen niet in de doorsnee speelgoedwinkels staat. Hele straten met we stadhuis etc. Sommige pakketten met wel 3000 stukjes. Dat is net zo iets als het huisjesproject....hier moet ook weer wat bouw achterstand worden weggewerkt....aan de slag.

magazines...lekker lezen

Heel veel leesvoer ligt er weer vers in de winkel.

De Homespun is er al even en staat vol met paas en voorjaarsideeën. Zoals altijd veel leuke quilts en projecten

 Quilting Arts is voor inspiratie en techniek. Hoe maak je mooie machinale quiltcirkels? Je kunt het hier vinden....

En de voorjaarsspecial van Quiltmania is verrassend: meer kleur dan we gewend zijn van deze Franse uitgever, maar daar houden we hier wel van....Het is echt voorjaar in dit blad.

Alle tijdschriften zijn in het Engels en ook via de website/winkel te bestellen.

Of kom naar de winkel en neem meteen wat voorjaarsstoffen mee. We hebben gisteren weer wat binnen gekregen. Ik ga ze dadelijk eens goed bekijken, dat is er nog niet van gekomen!
