Tweet, tweet or twitter?

 The new Homespun arrived last week and there was a nice birdpattern inside... I am interested in birds...never had this before, but I got and iPodtouch and dwonloaded...angry birds....that costs a lot of time and now I see birds everywhere.....
A friend started with a twitteraccount so I had to sign up there as well and send my first tweet....
Speaking of birds...that was the right time to do this.

De nieuwe Homespun kwam vorige week binnen en had een leuke vogel als patroon. Deze heb ik even gemaakt als reactie op mijn ijver op mijn iPodtouch met de Angry Birds. Erg verslavend....

Ik zie nu overal vogeltjes....een vriendin is begonnen met twitteren, dat wil ik wel volgen, dus ook een account aangemaakt en dan ook maar een berichtje de lucht in gestuurd. Je kunt het volgen op @francoisemaarse

Part two jubileummysterie

And this are the first two parts of the small mystery. Every month a part...Today we started with part two, the first month of the year is gone...time really flies. Sometimes I have the feeling I have not done a thing on a day and that day is gone, but yes I do a lot...it do not show all the time! Tomorrow you can read about the thing that keeps me busy!

En hier het tweede deel van de jubileum mysterie. Elke maand een stukje en het is alweer februari. Heeft iemand enig idee waar januari is gebleven? De dagen vliegen voorbij en het lijkt of ik niets gedaan heb. Dat is natuurlijk helemaal niet zo. Morgen kun je zien waar ik het onder andere druk mee heb!

Flowers

Six years ago I bought some cotton yarns during our holiday in Scotland. There was a lovely shop at St. Andrews. After I dropped off the men at one of the many golfcourses Ispent a nice time at the shop. I liked the colours of this Rowan yarns and bought eight colours. I started to crochet the flowers above; but what to do with these 3-dimensional creations? I decided to make flat flowers. I stopped at the end of each colour... and I have to make green leaves now....till the end of the green...

I want to sew them on a simple quilt with large squares: the fabrics are as well for years in a box.  I promised my self to finish this top before the summer starts....

Bij het opruimen kwam ik deze gehaakte bloemen weer tegen. De bolletjes garen heb ik zes jaar geleden gekocht in Schotland. Ik hoef alleen nog maar heel veel groene blaadjes te haken en de quilttop te maken...het moet maar eens af...voor de zomer is de top af heb ik me voorgenomen!

Silence and complete chaos

 I am this week off from shopwork (only  not on saturday) and this gives me the opportunity to do things I want to do for a long time, but never find the time. I am making wooden trays for the fat quarters to take with us to the quiltshows/trades. That is what I am doing in the morning (kid at school). In the afternoon I am cleaning the house and do some reorganisation....first complete chaos in my quiltroom...now organised and nice to sit. Not everything done I wanted to do (have a look at all the books/patterns and magazines...) but the tables are in good order...new shelves....I moved all the paint and dying stuff to an other room.
The sun is shining! I think I can sew tonight again. I have nog done this for days....

Deze week heb ik winkelvrij. Dit geeft de mogelijkheid om thuis eens even wat dingen te doen die er steeds niet van komen:gewoon omdat je hier wat meer uren achter elkaar voor nodig hebt. Zo ben ik aan de slag met hout om bakken voor de fat quarters te maken voor beurzen... en is mijn quiltkamer helemaal omgegooid. Tafels op een andere plek, een kast met hobbyspullen er uit en naar een andere kamer (ja, dus eerst alles uit de kast, kast verplaatsen, dat kan best  's avonds om 23.00 uur...en dan bijna alles weer terug in de kast.)

Vandaag maar weer eens achter de laptop (er is nu weer plaats op tafel en ruimte im mijn hoofd) en vanavond achter de naaimachine. Nu op naar zaag en boormachine.
