Another present!

A few days ago I got this tin. The biscuits are OK, but not important. It is the tin that counts. Thanks my love for this present! The fabrics I collected the last months, so I can store them well now. I am thinking about making a log cabin with these fabrics. One side red and the other side white. In the middle a little gold or black (these two colours you can see on the tin).I do not know yet, I closed the tin. I am going to design the new part of the mystery and it must be a little bit easier than the last one...Wait and see.

Birthday present

My mother-in-law made me this ceramic flowerpot as a birthday present. I love it!
Of course I can use it for other things than flowers (fabrics?), but with a plant the colours of te ceramics are wonderful. A handmade present is very special!

stitching

One of my collegues is an enthousiastic stitcher and quilter. She combines these and with great results. Their are a lot of Australian websites with free patterns, so here is one of her favorites; www.cinderberrystitches.com
I think I have to stitch as well....

Mystery part 5

A star this time with a lot of pieces to keep you busy.... and another house!
Have fun with these blocks

Paper piecing part 2

6. no. 3 with the right side on no. 2. Turn upside down, sew, iron, cut etc.
7. Top of the house

8. Cut after sewing

paper piecing

1. Copy your pattern on the desired foundation and cut your pieces. It is not neccessary to do this perfect, but take more seam allowance then you do normally.

2. Follow the numbers with sewing. Start with no. 1 and no. 2. right sides together. Pin.

3. Turn upside down and sew at the paperside. the line between no. 1 and no. 2

4. Flip no. 2. Iron

5. Fold the foundation on the line between no. 2 and no. 3. If there is to much seam allowance: cut and fold the foundation back.

Mystery results......

Some of the mystery quiltes can not wait to see the new parts.....and are checking this blog just before they go out to get their new pattern. But you all have to wait.....

Springtime

Yes, I know it is a long time ago....but I wanted to post some pictures and you have to make them by daylight....and I am always thinking about my blog in the evening. Not a good timing then. And what to post? I do a lot of quilting but things are secrets. The mystery is, off course, a secret and then there is the project with Maaike Bakker: my secret garden..... Yes, also a secret. You can find a quilt on the website http://www.quilterij.nl/, but I can not show all. You have to come to our workshop in Veldhoven, during the open european quilt championships. http://www.oeqc.eu/

But the secret garden gives a lot of ideas about flowers! In two weeks it will be spring and you can smell a little of it. I have a lot of daffodils in the garden waiting for a little bit of sun and warmth and then they will explode.

Last week I bought some packages full of promises for the summer. I have a little work to do, but then the miracles are going to happen in my garden...... Gardening is like patchwork: which colours, what size, where, when, lack of time and stunning results after all the work.
